When asked to provide an essay for the Architects of Peace project,

Write: In his Architects of Peace essay, Robert F. Kennedy,
Jr. claims that because we live in a complicated world, we must
sometimes choose between peace and goodness. Does this seem like
a contradiction? Can you think of specific examples in real life
where you've been forced to make such a choice? After reflecting
on these questions, compose a free-verse poem, no more than a page
in length, about the choices one confronts in the pursuit of peace.
Expand: The various riverkeeper, waterkeeper, baykeeper
and coastkeeper organizations that make up The Waterkeeper Alliance
rely heavily on high-school and collegiate interns to help monitor
water quality and to conduct other elements of their research and
advocacy campaigns. Those interested in such an opportunity should
contact
their local organization.
Additional Resource: The
American Rivers organization works closely with Riverkeepers
to save endangered rivers in North America.
